    Job Title Research Assistant
    Title of the Project Pak Digest
    Duration of the Project One year
    Purpose of Project Publication of the monthly newsletter on Pakistan, on a regular basis which would be circulated amongst various stakeholders
    Key Areas of Project The focal area of the project shall inter-alia include:
    • Human rights situation in Pakistan
    • Domestic reactions to Pakistan- China Relations
    • Movements for autonomy and separatism
    • Rise in extremism and terrorism and their influence in Pakistani society and polity- political parties and establishment
    • Situation in various provinces in Pakistan

    Salary and other Emoluments A fixed remuneration of Rs. 40,000/- per month (all inclusive)
    Hours Full-time
    Contract Period For fixed term of 12 (twelve) months from the date of joining the Institute and this will not confer any right of permanence
    Age Limit Below 35 years
    Educational Qualifications
    • Minimum of a Master’s Degree with a first class in social sciences and allied fields such as public policy, international relations, strategic affairs, development studies, especially focussing on Pakistan
    • Candidates with an Urdu language background will be preferred
    • Preference shall be given to candidates who have undertaken research on Pakistan
    Professional Experience Research experience on Pakistan
    Job Description* The job profile inter-alia includes:
    • Monitoring the official statements, briefings , documents etc. on foreign and security policies especially concerning India and the military establishment
    • Data collection from Primary and Secondary sources, including internet portals of Pakistan government (different ministries and department), military security establishments, print and audio- visual media etc.
    • Providing research support for the Project which shall involve data mining by scanning journals and new arrivals in the library to provide a bibliography of the various articles/books relating to the subject matter concerned
    • Providing administrative support for organising round tables, workshops, seminars, conferences, meetings under the aegis of the Project, getting in touch over telephone and email with invitees (chairs, discussants, participants) under the supervision of the Centre Coordinator, coordinating with the conference cell to arrange transport, refreshments, lunch etc.
    • Writing event reports of seminars, round tables, seminars, workshops, etc. held at the Institute under the Project
    Desired Skill-Set
    • Keen interest in analyzing current national and international affairs especially focusing on Pakistan and related areas
    • Excellent knowledge of Urdu and English language
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to attend to detail
    • Work under strict deadlines
    • Flair for team work

    General Information
    • Short listed candidates will be invited to attend interviews at Delhi latest by 16 January 2017 for one day
    • The selected candidates will be expected to join latest by 31 January 2017
